I consider buying a Pentax 100-300 FA lens, the new silver one, f4.7-5.8. But since there has been lots of critics on the 4.5-5.6 lens, I thought I should ask your opinion on the newer lens.
You can have a look at the results of the extensive tests of telezooms in Polish magazin "Foto". This new SMC-FA 100-300/4.7-5.8 has quite good resolution at 300 mm (there is small bug in this table - focals should be 100-200-300, not 80-200-320). Resolution at f/11 and 300 mm is higher than the same in FA 80-320 and Sigma APO 70-300. In tables with stars you have following parameters: build quality, convenience, sharpness, light fallof, flare, distortions.Is this magazine on-line somewhere? Or just the tables? Thanx!
