The above paragraph is meaningless rubbish.
While it is true that the geometric arrangement of seeds on a sunflower
inflorescence are aesthetically attractive, sunflowers, or something very
like them, were growing aeons before numerical series were invented.

I'll agree that the numbers (and symbols we use to represent them) we use are arbatrary, BUT, underneath it all Nature invented and uses Math and other Rules. Man simply *smirk* is attempting to discover a rhyme and reason to this Math and Rules so as to better understand his surroundings.
