Mind you, Pentax even think releasing their first DSLR in 2003 is really early and almost premature. They probably do it for market perception reasons. DSLR are still in their infacncy and I firmly belive that today DSLR will be laughing stock in five years time. > They always have been slow, but have produced some of the nicest stuff. > (Nikon went bayonet in 1958-9, Pentax 1974?) They have been slow the last decade. Before that they were the SLR company with the most "first". In the last 10-15 years they have been the market leader in upscale P&S; the Optio S is a fruit of that expertise. > 2. Pros want one thing: More megapixels. The typical DSLR pro, the photo journalist, don't care about Mp. They prefer the lower, semi-affordable DSLR, before the expensive, high-Mp DSLR's. It is ironic that the benchmark of SLR pro use is hardly about image quality at all. Pål
