Thanks Lawrence for the information.

From Pentax Japan's Flash *ist page, a picture of the back LCD panel

indicated the AF sensors pattern, which is:

But there is no indication on their individual sensitivity to horizontal and vertical lines and there is no indication on cross-sensors.

As Lawrence point out in the CF list, *ist supports 2s mirror pre-fire. wow!

Here's the 16 segment metering pattern:

The main segments "4-5-4" also corresponds to the 11 focal points.
And yes, the matrix metering can be set to adjust automatically according
to the focal point!  This is set by Custom Function #3.
