Rule one: Never ever trust a Pentax rep :o) One of them told me today that "you guys know far more than we do". Anyway, the *ist and *is D was originally designed with crippled mount. That IS a fact. It also reflected in the first press release that excluded K and M lenses. It was not a printing error. However, due to massive whining, particulatly in Japan but perhaps also on the PDML for all I know, Pentax have redesigned some of the lens/camera interfac. This means that K-mount lenses can be used I'm told, but there are some peculiarities like DOF preview may not work with K and M lenses (don't ask me why) and some limitations in manual mode when it comes to meter readouts (no, don't ask me why). Whatever, these weirdo limitation could perhaps be explained that the lens mount do indeed use a slightly different protocol than previously, as another bloke down at the pub told me today. Pål
