Yep - and even brand new batteries can cause this, if they are dead
flat right out of the package.
A couple of months ago, a friend thought his Super Program was broken
for sure. He had a complete shutter lock-up, right after installing
some brand new batteries.
I installed some older but good batteries for him, and problem solved.
Seems he had installed his new batteries upside down. They were
drained flat also.
