Now yer talkin' - 2000mmm. Yummy, just right for a medium telephoto. I stack that good ol' Vivitar 2x Macro TC on my 600/4 with 2x-L for a neat little 2400mm pocket rocket. Seriously, I heartily endorse the Vivitar 2x Macro TC over and above every manual focus TC except the Pentax XL versions. I don't claim it's better optically, but I believe it is just as good as its competition, with the added advantage of the helicoid and cheap price. I once spent an afternoon testing TC's ( I had about eight at the time) and the Vivitar 2x Macro TC tied for third with the A 2X-L. Best was the A1.4X-L. The 1.7x AF Adapter was a close second to the 1.4X-L. The 2x'ers were behind those by a noticeable level of sharpness, but overall they weren't bad at all. The testing lens was the A* 200/4 Macro at a focus distance of about 20 feet. -- John Mustarde www.photolin.com
