Yes, I adapted my grip B with one of the top lugs. Pix of it are here:

You're very right to mention that anchoring the lug well is essential. Mine is secured with a nut and then sealed with lock-tite (a thread lock material).
It hasn't fallen off yet. Finding a nut to fit the threads on the lug was the tricky part.
