It seems to have been unsharp at any aperture, centre or edge, at any focal length, and had very severe rectilinear distortion. Instead, consider a Pentax or, if money is tight, a new Tokina 19-35mm or the previous 20-35mm, both f/3.5-4.5. There was an older Tokina 19-35mm which was a Cosina/Phoenix/Vivitar/Soligor clone with the Tokina brand. That was also a bad lens. The new Tamron 19-35mm is also a Cosina/Phoenix/Vivitar/Soligor clone and is therefore best avoided. John
