Along those lines I know that a number of people have
had their AIS Nikon lenses converted to a "P" type
with a computer chip added/new F mount. This will give
the old AIS lens all the capabilities (like matrix
metering) of a P type but with no Af obviously & can
be used with cameras like the N80. This has been
common with the Nikon super-telephotos that I have
seen for sale.

Couldn't Pentax offer a K-mount coversion to an A?
