Reminds me of the Australian movie "Proof" (1991), also about a blind photographer. In that case the photos were taken in an attempt to establish the facts of the photographer's (Hugo Weaving) life, to be confirmed by a sighted third party (Russel Crowe). Of course a romantic triangle, and the 'independent witness's' duplicity therein, play a large part in the plot.
