Thanks for the information on the 80-320 Alin. I was hoping that centre sharpness would have been a lot better than the edges. As I more interested in the 320 end of the lens I will just have to keep an eye out for a reasonably priced 300mm prime, preferably Pentax or any 3rd party manufacturer who makes a decent 300mm f4. >From what other people have said about digital cameras and 35mm designed zoom lenses I think I will wait until the ist D is on the market before making any lens purchases!
