Told a few of you about my treasure privately - but going public now with my dirty little secret..
BOught a Tamrac gear bag for $29.99 - it had stuff in it. I said "$29.99 for everything?" Salesgirl said yes... and she knew it had stuff in it because she had to lift it out of the display case. I peaked but did not examine the contents in the store.
Well, I sold the bag itself on ebay for $40.00, the NIKON close up lenses No 0 and 2 are up there now with the starting bid of $14.99 on it already and I just listed two 52mm threaded filters (UV and 82-A) . But I'm keeping for my self the really treasure. a Nikkormat FT with 50, 135,28mm
lenses, leather case for the camera, flash attachment, cable release, nikon polarizer. My LX is not functioning well these days, my KX is limping a bit, too, and the funds for tuning them up do not exist. Hope you guys won't kick me off the list for adoring my new treasure.
One problem is getting used to the way one needs to change lenses and set ASA - I took it to Photo-tech and got the basic skinny on it but remembering to change the ASA line-up when you change from the 50 to the 135 and doing it quickly is a bit of an annoyance. But this 30 odd year old manual camera "takes good pictures" though I may break a wrist holding it. The base plate has a small dent in it, otherwise it is in perfect shape. I'm so lucky that camera's like these are regarded as "junk" by the pricers at thrift stores. Now if I could only find another LX....:)
as the filters can certainly be used on OUR cameras, here are the item numbers on ebay. The filters have metal rims, anyone know WHAT metal? I'm not sure what to call the blue tinted ring of the Tiffen.
2944125895 (for the tiffen 82-a)
2944127429 (for the Nikkormat UV )
