REPLY: Could be. However, I would have expected that Pentax will make K/M compatibility in high-end bodies. A high-end DSLR is promised and a film sibling is not unthinkable. After all, the KAF3 mount patents opens for K/M compatibility if memory serves me right, and for a film camera such compatibility make particular sense as it appeals to traditionalists. If there indeed will be a high-offering without K/M compatibility then one can assume Pentax have abandoned it for good. Compatibility issues notwithstanding, I'm not convinced that the *istD will be a runaway sucess. It will probably sell healthily enough but I doubt it will achieve significan't market share. Pentax have simply more or less ruined their brand values, particularly for slr's, during the 90's and I think few stores will actually stock the *istD. Pål
