Actually, I think, most modern commercial labs use some variation of laser printing (and not a very high res one, either) on photographic paper these days (Fuji Frontier, etc).

"Other", usually.  They don't use printers - they use light-sensitive
photographic paper, enlargers, and chemicals, just as people have been
doing for decades.
