The capacitors in flashes are normally very good ones. I never had a leaking
one.
Check also the high voltage rectifier diodes. At an old Metz flash they were
the reason for never ending charge up. There were used standard 1N 4007
diodes. After changing them into good fast rectifier diodes, the flash works
now properly.
