Hi Ken
In this case I think it means flash ready signal in viewfinder and maybe
automatic setting of the camera flash sync speed. For more modern flashes it
also means TTL ability and even automatic flash zooming (like AF500FTZ) with
i.e. Pentax Z- series. This particular flash should be operational with
PZ1-p, but mine isn't - it makes the camera LCD go nuts. (Don't try that).
