It can be done, but your right, it's a bit of a pain.
Do yerself a favour and build a tempered water jacket large enough to hold
all the solutions required and the tank.
I have made a few using styrofoam coolers and aquarium heaters. You have to
modify the heater slightly to allow it to make enough heat, often just
pulling the knob and rotating the adjuster once it's free of it's limiter
will do it.
If you have a decent E-6 lab local, you are probably better off to let them
do it though.
