Ok, well not ALWAYS, but generally.  I like to shoot my portraiture with a
"fashion" angle, rather than straight portraiture, so I am usually trying to
bump up the contrast and saturation, iykwim?

Of course, there are always applications for both, but I tend to be trying
to "increase" more than anything else...
