Well, seems odd to me, but what do I know. Not sure if floating elements are a good thing, unless you drop the lens in a lake <groan>.
No need to make scans, but thanks for the offer ... too much time and trouble for the result. If I'm more interested in the lens, I may ask later. Best bet for me would be to put it on a camera and burn a roll of film. However, I'm leaning more towards a simpler lens - just a plain old tele, no AF, no magic elements.
