Ann, I have the Epson Perfection 1650. It seriously sucks for neg scans and I loathe the day that I bought the thing. For print scanning it is great, but I shouldn't have been such a tight-wad and spent the extra 500 or so bucks to get a neg scanner.
I can't help you much cause I've never been able to get it to do anything that is even remotely usable for me... tan.
