Hi all, I spent the past week in windy Wellington... I went up to see the final LoTR movie at the Embassy Theatre, and my partner went to accompany me to the film and do some research at the National Archives.
There was quite a bit of LoTR stuff in Wellington. A few large models had been hung on buildings, and there were some good displays at the airport. I was rather surprised by how much you can spend on merchandise if you were that way inclined. The Embassy is beautiful - and they replaced all the seats at last. I took a Pentax but since I haven't finished the film yet you'll have to wait for most of the pictures. I ended up taking the K2 with 43mm Limited and 100mm macro lenses. I didn't use them much as the weather was pretty bad most of the time. However, I did take some pics with my Palm's built-in digital camera.
