Met his brother in Ottawa when I was working there about three years ago. Again a very kind and gracious gentleman. And talented as well. He autographed a couple of his books for me. It was one of the highlights of the eight months I spent there.

Happened to find a free 190 page book of Karsh photography. ("Karsh" by University of Toronto Press 1983.) Interesting mirror of the times as well as many influential portraits of statesmen, artists and the like. (Some of them very good, some of them slightly over- or melo-dramatic.) I'll see if I can make use of some of his lighting techniques for some b&w portraits. There is a number of very good non-portrait shots as well. Among others there is a photograph of a farmer in Regina, Canada, Must be close to you then, William (Robb), in case you're reading.
Anyone who cares much for Karsh' shooting nowadays?
