Of course they did that.  He's a customer.  No sales guy wants to turn off a 
potential sale by insulting the customer. They probably sell microscopes and 
adaptors.

My lab now has two *ist Ds. The fellow across the hall wants to attach his 
to an Olympus microscope. Yesterday two "suits" (black suits and ties both) 
from Olympus visited him. When he showed them the *ist D and said that it 
is the camera he wants to connect, they both started lavishly praising it. 
Not a word about Olympus's own DSLR. Curious.
