Photographer access to F1 races is a *very* tightly controlled business. When I was in Montreal for the inaugural CART race I was amazed to find that the good photo stands were all tagged and labelled. A photographer would get his access pass to one particular photo spot for the F1 race; none of the wandering around the track and gentlemanly sharing of spots that I see on the CART (or ALMS) circuit.
