I think the FA-1 is the better of the two finders. My FA-1W
doesn't seem as crisp as either of my FA-1s. I have the
FB-1/FC-1 combination, which I really like for longish lenses.
The eyepeice swivels through 90º, so if you have the camera low,
you don't have to break your back looking through the finder. I
don't like it at all for wide angle lenses. I also have a little
round eyepiece for the FB-1. I forget it's designation. It is
quite good for if the camera is on a microscope, and also very
nice for macro shooting. The eyepiece is at a 45º angle, so the
camera is strange to use vertically. I have always wanted to try
a waist level finder on the LX, but not enough to buy one,
mostly because the 6x7 is really funky to use with the waste
level finder.
