Don, it's not irrelevent, since it is in the tank when the wash bath
goes in, and immediately contaminates it. Therefore, it must be
accounted for.
This presumes a fill and dump wash method.

If you are using a running water wash method, then you are correct.

I don't advocate running water washing because it is wasteful of a
resource.
