Thats quite the email address. The yellow filter is a good
choice for general purpose B&W. The easiest way to bump the
contrast is to increase development time. Try about 20% longer
to start.
Tri-X is not my favourite film for portraits. Kodaks's Plux-X or
Ilford FP-4+ have a much nicer skin tone value IMO. The 50mm 1.4
with 2X converter should give a nice portrait combination.
