I've scanned Ilford XP2 and Portra 400BW on a HP S20 and Canon 4000. The Portra has an orange mask. If you use a scanner that uses an infared channel for dust and scratch removal, scanning the film in color mode enable D&S removal. I scanned the Ilford in B&W, color and positive modes, and the end results were pretty much the same. FWIW: The Portra scans very well with a very nice tonal range and very little grain, much nicer than the Ilford.
