Just to clarify, my comment was that LONG FOCUS lenses are rare, telephotos, which are different design (physically shorter than focal length) are very common.... Generally, long focus designs are usually better than teles especially with regard to geometric distortion.... JCO

The brilliant bird photographs in the add was made with this 400mm on a Canon D30: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4687&item=3822995 923& rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW IMHO it's a beautiful lens (Takumar like design). It has a buy-it-now price of 150 USD - but it has been listed three times (at least) without any bids - so you'll most likely get it if you bid 99.99 USD! If I had a Spotmatic I would hav bought it a week ago. Cheers Jens Bladt mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://hjem.get2net.dk/bladt -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: J. C. Long focus M42 lenses are rare in that length. jco -----Original Message----- From: Lorin Mackey [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, June 25, 2004 10:58 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Long Focus Lens for Spotmatic Gentlemen, I'm looking for a 200 or 300mm long focus lens for my Spotmatic SP. Is there any other designation for the coupling other than "screw-thread" ? Thank you Lorin
