I just got through my latest issue of practical photography this morning, and it has a nice little test of "mid range film SLRs". The *ist came out as the best buy, with a nice little quote of:
"The Pentax *ist is superb value...With a budget digital SLR rumoured to be introduced later this year the Pentax system is looking like an even more attractive proposition as an entry into SLR photography"
Which sounds encouraging.
