Then how can you explain Ilford? A niche manufacturer that produces much
lower volumes of a specialist product and charges a competitve rate whilst
still making a profit. They don't even use cheap 3rd-world labour.
William Robb said they can do it because they have no competition. Poor
Kodak; been wasting their time with Tri-X and T-grain (etc) then :-)

No-one doubts that the consumer high-street processing end is going
downhill fast. I think it was pretty over-saturated anyway. The
essentially niche products of B&W, transparency, medium and large-format
never went to the high-street in the first place. There is a pro lab just
a few hundred yards from my office here in Sheffield, UK (Peak Imaging).
They have just done a lot of cosmetic work on their building. They also
have staff vacancies. Sound like a company on their last legs to you?
