Pentax made a nice rectangular hood for the 35mm 3.5/2.0 takumars with
49mm threads. It would be ideal for a 24mm on the istD.
it is unique in that it screws in but then still has
about 180 of adjustable rotation after the threads are
tight so you can still align with the body. You could use with a 52>49
step down ring.
Only problem is they are pretty rare.

I'm using 
it on the *ist D.
