Ok, well, thanks for asking! Here's what I did - *istD exposure settings at ISO400, 1/30th, f3.5, contrast - high, saturation - high, sharpness - high.
I used the AF-500ftz, set manually, at 1/16th, and with Lumiquest Promax Softbox attached. Lens was Tokina atx Pro II 28-70/2.8 with a Tamron AF 2 x teleconverter. Not sure what focal length was used - exif data reads as 45mm, but add to that the 1.5x magnification for the digital medium, and also the teleconverter, and I really don't know what that translates to. I got TOO close so to overexpose slightly, and so that only one or two of the lavender flowers was in focus. I was shooting late in the afternoon, and in full shade, so it was pretty dark, hence the need for the long exposure and open aperture (but it suited perfectly what it was I was trying to achieve). I metered for the background and purposely overexposed that by well over 2 stops. Then, as I shot, I moved the camera in a slight circlular movement to blur the bokeh even further and to give the feel of movement. The blue/teal "glow" that you see, is actually some out of focus palm fronds in the background to the left of the frame, and some remnants of the azure (hehe, I do love that word!) coloured sky as it was starting to set. So that's it, it was basic really, but bet I could never do it again if I tried! lol. And, again, thanks for asking, and also for your lovely comment! :-) tan. -----Original Message----- From: Gonz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, 23 July 2004 3:18 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Tan's foray into stock photography....
