Taken this past Friday afternoon. A group of older farmers in this area get together
once
a year to cut
bind and thrash a small bit of acerage(wheat) with the older farm equipment, some they
probably had
on there own farms, using horse power and tractors from the early part of the 1900's.(I
have tried to
shot this for a number of years but always seem to hear about this to late)
The farm is owned by the Lewis family, and as in the case of the Reesor reunion in early
July,these
families have been in this neck of the woods for close to 200 years as well.
These folk are trying to preserve the older methods for there own enjoyment, memories
and
hopefully
to inspire others to carry on. Big lunch served after the cutting, thrashing
demonstrations.
It was shot with a DSLR but i converted it to a sepia image as i thought it might add
to
the turn of
century effect.

As always, enjoy and i appreciate comments, good or bad.:-)
