Even if it's inside its use-by date don't eat it if you've frozen and thawed it 
and frozen it again :-)

Taking photos with it will be fine, no detrimental effects. Don't however 
freeze Portra films in order to preserve them post processing. I don't know 
what happens to them but there is a warning in the technical data (not that you 
would of course)
