Well, as it is impossible to sell patents in any other way than selling the products or licensing the technology I agree...

Yes, it is a successful patent for sure.
However, AFAIK they didn't sell the patent anyone. They sold the whole
lens/shutter/viewfinder assembly, made by them.
Casio is widely using it, and apparently Samsung is going to use it in a new
cellphone.
