Just saw Spencer Tunick (the guy who does mass naked people shots) on TV and he seemed to be using a Pentax 6x7 for some of his captures, and some kind of rangefinder for others. Checked the TV guide to see what I've been watching for the past hour, turns out it's:
"Naked World " A follow up to controversial American photographer Spencer Tunick's Naked States, where he photographed nudes publicly across the USA. This documentary traces Tunick's yearlong journey that he calls Nude Adrift, a project spanning nine countries on seven continents including Brazil, South Africa, Canada, Antarctica, Russia, Great Britain and Australia. From the shantytowns and golf courses of South Africa's Cape Town, to surprising reluctance from locals in libertine Paris, to huge crowds of supporters in Montreal and Melbourne, Naked World traces the struggles and triumphs of Tunick's overall vision of his work. The best reaction Tunick gets anywhere in the world is in Melbourne, as Tunick is visibly astounded by the responsiveness of Melbournians when people continue to show up in droves, despite the rain. The eventual number of people is over 4000, all of whom gleefully shed their clothes before an overwhelmed Tunick and pose around the city, with one of the resulting photographs a striking "body scape" of pink flesh winding along one of the Yarra's river banks. Really quite fascinating. Cheers, Ryan PS. Aussie residents (excl. WA), it's still on for another 20 minutes..
