Henri, I often use a Kiron 75-150/4 for the same purpose. I'm convinced that the subject's comfort level for informal portraits and candids at gatherings of family and friends is inversely proportional to the lens size, especially the diameter of the front element. Many people cringe when you point a 135/1.8 or 135/2.3 at them, but they aren't particularly bothered by a small diameter lens.
