MEs are all metal, one of the selling points when they were introduced since the main competition, (Canon AE1s and Minotla I forgets), had either plastic top or plastic top and bottom plates.

Actually I should say plastic on top and steel on the bottom. ;-)

Well, that shoots my little theory right down the crapper, doesn't it?

What about ME's (no super)?

I must confess, I haven't paid much attention, but when I last held an
ME, it seemed pretty hefty for such a smallish camera, and I thought
the top plate felt like metal. But, maybe it's just a real good
metallic finish over plastic. What to I know?

I don't know if I've ever held an ME Super.

cheers,
frank

I can understand why mankind hasn't given up war. During a war you get to drive tanks through the sides of buildings and shoot foreigners - two things that are usually frowned on during peacetime.
