In all the Pentax cameras I'm aware of, shutter speed is controlled by a *single* cam. Having a continuous surface, this cam can give "in-between" shutter speeds simply by setting it between the settings on the shutter speed dial.
I assume you're only talking about cameras with mechanical shutter speed controls? (M42, K-series, and MX? Others?)
