One interesting feature is that the hood does not attach to the extending part of the lens barrel - so this barrel part actually extends within the hood. While this means the hood is less effective at higher magnifications, it also means that you don't lose the working distance that you would if the hood extended a few centimetres past the front element.
So far I've not seen any photos that allow any conclusions on optical quality to be reached - only a few small samples.
Anyone on the list got one on order?
