#1 For my money you can't beat the Epson line of photo printers.
     I have the 2000P and am very satisfied with it.

#3 I only use Epson papers in my 2000P but I've heard of others that get
acceptable results using other papers in Epsons.

# 6 I don't doubt that good results can be obtained with other printers, but
I think you need to compare those results to those off of the Epsons.
