Yes, this also happens with your ME and ME Supers. As the light meter is
TTL, it doesn't matter as this is taken into account automatically, so your
pictures will be properly exposed. Hovever, this does become a problem
when using flash (except TTL flash, which you don't have) or an external
light meter though. That's why most early zooms were constant aperture zooms.

I just recently purchased a Sigma zoom lens 28mm to 105mm f4 to 5.6. While
taking pictures with the MZ-M and this lens I discovered that if you set
the aperture ring at f8, it will only work at the focal length 35mm. If
you increase the focal length to 70mm the aperture reading in the camera
was f9.7, even though the aperture ring is at f8. At 105mm the aperture
reading is f11. The owner at the local camera store assured me that this
happens on this types of lens.
My question is having 2 ME Supers and a ME does the same thing happen with
these cameras using that type of lens at the various focal lengths?
My wife uses the new Pentax 28-200mm lens with one of these cameras and I
have the other two cameras to use. We both enjoy doing black & white
photography(prints). We generally use 125 ISO Ilford.

thanks in advance
