Don't you do mail order in the US? I get a 36exp-colour film processed, printed twice at 6x4 and a CD for 9.75 (around 18-20 dollars, I would say), incl. stamps and what have you. I have done cheaper (but not as good) in the past.
Thats a way to get film processed, it is not necessarily a good way to get the results you want.
Unless what you want is the lowest common denominator.
