Well, not that I want to make a big deal (or in fact, any deal at all)
about it, but I am still a lawyer. As one who has had a Bachelor of
Laws degree (LLb) conferred upon him by an approved and accredited law
school, I am a lawyer.

In the same way that a doctor is always a doctor, even though he may
not be practising, I still have the degree, so I'm a still a lawyer.

I'm not a member of any law society or other governing body, so I
can't call myself a barrister or solicitor, nor am I allowed to
practice law or give a legal opinion.

But, I take your (tongue-in-cheek) point. For all intents and
purposes, no, I'm no longer a lawyer.

cheers,
frank
