Switching the lens mount on an FM2? What a great idea!
Too bad Nikon never saw fit to do the same, as it would have made the FM2 a real classic (I guess it already is actually). I must confess I have never used (or even held) the *ist so I can't compare and unlike some, I will refrain from commenting on that which I have no epxerience with.

Actually I don't even own a digital camera other than an old 1 mp POS that I never use.
I still prefer film!

I also had an FM2, and had the coupling ring replaced with the earlier FM style one. Cost a little bit but was well worth it.
