I got my new 300/2.8 just a short while ago. It's a Sigma, because I'm not rich
enough to afford the Pentax, much as I'd like it. (Heck, I'm not actually rich
enough to afford the Sigma but I decided I derserved to splurge for my 40th
birthday!)
First impressions: Man, this thing is nicely built! Feels really solid. Fit and
finish are excellent.
Second impressions: Nice bright image in the viewfinder. Focusing is pertty
quick, too. Love that shallow depth of field at f2.8!
Time to go out and shoot some film. I'm going to try my Pentax 1.7x AF
teleconverter and my Sigma 1.4x TC. If it works well with a 1.7x I'll probably
spring for the Sigma 2x made especially for their big glass telephotos.
This should be fun...
