Frank, this is why I love my full matt screens in the LX, because I'm not 
dragged to the centre of the screen to set focus. Many fast lenses and the 
50/1.2 in particular focus over a spherical FOV. So if you set the focus in the 
screen centre then move to re-compose the combination of the very limited DOF 
at wide apertures and the non-planar focus field may very well let you down 
like you discovered.
