I may have looked at them in the wrong order, as I just commented on "view 2" a few minutes ago. I like that one better. I find the houses a bit of a distraction, and they take the sawmill into the present, whereas in "view 2" the photo is timeless - no visual cues of modernity. I also like that the water seems to dominate the other one.
